We  test all the raw material we procure for steel melting by practically passing them through the melting process in a 25kg lab furnace to ascertain their quality and yield. Using this analysis we maintain our scrap charging mix to assure us of the quality of steel we are making.  We keep critical elements which harm steel at lower levels  and enhance other elements such as manganese and silicon. This analysis also allows us to maintain adequate levels of carbon in the steel, which is very important in manufacturing high quality TMT bars. In our state of the art laboratory at the Furnace Division we also test the chemical and physical analysis of the Billets before dispatching it to our Rolling Division. This allows us to segregate the bars of Billets according to their chemical content and use them accordingly to manufacture the various sizes of TMT Bars. The lab is run by highly experienced metallurgists from the steel industry and we also provide training to younger chemists who work as lab assistants.
